No WA Agency called "Placement"

It has been brought to our attention that licensed foster and adoptive families in Washington State may be receiving phone calls from “Placement.” It has been reported to us that when asked who “placement” is, the response is “"Placement" is a private agency serving as a "gatekeeper" and contracted by DSHS to "compile data" .

There is not a private agency with the name “Placement”! The only reference that would be used as “placement” would actually be DSHS as an internal department, not a contracted agency. We are not sure as yet if only families using a private agency are being contacted, or if it is everyone.
 
If you have received such a contact please contact FLO immediately so we can see just how widespread this has become. But let me make something very clear, there is NO private agency called “Placement.”

Federal Adoption Tax Credit Action Alert

As many of you know, FLO has been on the front line of the Federal adoption credit for some years strongly advocating for the continuation of the program. As you’ve seen us post, the credit is up for renewal in 2012 and while there is movement to get an extension approved it doesn’t mean we can sit and wait.

Join Families Like Ours, Voices for Adoption, North American Council on Adoption, Even B Donaldson Adoption Institute, The Dave Thomas Foundation and many others by contacting your State Senators and letting them know how important this is for adoptive families and kids. May is National Foster Care month so this will be our focus this month here at FLO!

What a roller coaster few days here in FLO! The CNN story has kept us all busy with many emails wanting to know more about FLO, asking for help and resources, and telling us your stories. FLO adopts Google NP Tools

This past fall we started adopting Google tools for nonprofits. What a difference in productivity. It has made it much easier for our team, volunteers and partners to collaborate on a wide range of work and projects.
